Data Collection Flow

In a flow, we can set up a node for the AI to collect data from our clients. We can select the data we want it to collect and the AI will gather it by asking questions to the client.

This can be used to collect information like birthday dates, favorite store, shoe size, type of hair, etc. We can save that information as a contact property, and then use it in the future for our marketing actions and campaigns.


1. Select the flow where you want to collect data

Since data collection is a node we can add it to any flows and therefore is not necessary to create a new one. We recommend adding it to the welcome flow!

You just have to choose the node where you want to add the data collection. Here:

Once you click, a pop up will appear for you to select which data you want for the AI to collect.

2. Data Selection

2.1. Pre loaded:

We already give you 2 options that we recommend for you to gather from your clients. The User's Birthday and the Email Address. If you click any of these the AI will gather that information for you.

2.2. Create your own properties

If you want the AI to collect any other data from the client then you must press "+New Property" or if you already have any property created beforehand you can search for it in "Type to search property.."

Let's create a new one! Once you press "+New Property" a window will appear for you to fulfill the details of this property. Here you will be required to add a Name, The type of the property and the description. Is very important for the description to be as complete as it can be so the AI knows exactly what we want to collect.

Property Types:

  • Text Field: It's free form. Basically we can ask the AI to gather any type of information we want. It can be used to ask for information that has so many variables so we cannot provide all options i.e. Favorite Color, Shoe Size, Ring size, etc.

  • Select Option: We provide the AI some options so the costumer can choose between them. We can use this to collect data as Favorite Store Location, Product preference, etc.

  • Date: This can be used to collect information in a date format like Birthday, Next Trip, etc.

2.3. Search for already created properties.

If you already have created a property in another flow or in the audience panel, then you can ask the AI collect that data. First, search for the property you want the AI to collect:

Once you have chosen it, click on it again and the full details will appear. Here you can complete or change the Type, the Descriptions and the options, given the case.

3. Set up Next Steps

Now all that's left is for us to set the flow depending on if the data collection was successful or not.

And that's it! Now you go create a data collection flow and try it out.

With the data collection node we can ask costumers to answer some questions before or after giving them the discount. This can be useful for saving their emails, birthday date or for things more specific related to your business. For example, if you sell hair products you could ask about their hair type.
