How to Connect Instagram (Meta) with Konvo
Bring all your Instagram DMs into Konvo — and let your AI handle them automatically.
In Konvo's integrations section, the Instagram channel appears under the name Meta. Once connected, every Instagram Direct Message your account receives will appear in your Konvo inbox alongside all your other channels. Your AI will start responding to DMs automatically, in the same way it handles WhatsApp messages, emails, and live chat — giving your customers a fast, consistent experience no matter where they reach out.
What You'll Need
Admin access to your Konvo account
A Facebook account with Administrator access to your Facebook Business Manager
A Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account
An Instagram Business or Creator account connected to that Facebook Page
⚠️ Important: Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account — personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected. It must also be linked to a Facebook Page inside your Business Manager. If it isn't, the connection will fail at the final step.
Step-by-Step: Connecting Instagram (Meta)
Step 1: Open the Integrations section
In Konvo, go to Settings (left-hand sidebar) → Integrations. You'll see a grid of all available integrations.

Step 2: Find Meta and click Connect
Locate the Meta card in the integrations grid and click Connect. This will open the Meta/Facebook authorisation flow in a new page.

Step 3: Confirm your Facebook account
A Facebook page will open showing the account you're currently logged in with. Make sure this is the correct Facebook account — specifically, it must be the account that has Administrator access to the Facebook Business Manager associated with your Instagram page.
If the wrong account is showing, log out of Facebook first and log back in with the correct one before continuing.

Step 4: Select your Business portfolio
Facebook will ask you to choose which Business portfolio (Business Manager account) you want to give Konvo access to. Select the correct one — this should be the Business Manager account that contains your Facebook Page and Instagram account.
You will see two options:
Activate for all current and future elements — Konvo will have access to your current Business accounts plus any you create in the future
Activate for current elements only — Konvo only accesses the specific account you select now
Select your Business account from the list and click Continue.

Step 5: Select your Facebook Page
Next, Facebook will ask which Facebook Page you want to connect. Select the page that is linked to your Instagram account. Make sure to check the box next to it so it appears as selected (you will see a blue tick and "1 element selected" confirmed at the top).
Click Continue.

Step 6: Select your Instagram account
Facebook will then ask which Instagram account you want to connect. The recommended option here is:
Activate for all current and future Instagram accounts — this ensures the connection remains stable even if your Instagram account details change
Select this option and click Continue.

Step 7: Review the full access summary and click Save
A summary screen will appear listing everything Konvo AI is requesting access to:
Manage your business — 1 Business selected
Access the profile and posts of the selected Instagram account
Access and manage messages from the Instagram account
Read content published on the Page
View a list of Pages you manage
Review these permissions carefully. This access is necessary for Konvo to receive and respond to your Instagram DMs. Once you're happy, click Save (shown as "Enregistrer" in the screenshot).

Step 8: Complete the connection inside Instagram
After saving, an Instagram page will open to finalise the connection. This is a critical step — pay close attention here.
First pop-up — Cookie consent: Instagram will first show a cookie consent pop-up. You can accept or decline cookies — this does not affect the integration. Dismiss this pop-up and continue.
Second pop-up — Instagram access permission: A second pop-up will appear asking you to grant Konvo access to your Instagram account. This is the important one. You must click Accept or Allow on this pop-up to complete the connection. If you dismiss or decline this pop-up, the integration will not be finalised and you will need to start the process again.
⚠️ Do not close the Instagram page or skip the second pop-up. Wait for both pop-ups to appear and make sure you accept the second one. This is the step that grants Konvo permission to receive your DMs.

Step 9: Return to Konvo and confirm
Once you've accepted the Instagram permission, go back to your Konvo account and refresh the page. Go to Settings → Integrations and you'll see the Meta card now showing a green Connected status.
Your Instagram DMs will begin appearing in your Konvo inbox immediately.

What Happens After Connection
Once Instagram is connected through Meta:
All Instagram DMs appear in your Konvo inbox — alongside WhatsApp, email, and any other active channels
Your AI responds to DMs automatically — using your existing knowledge base and the same configuration used for other channels
Your team can manage Instagram conversations — assigning, replying, escalating, and adding internal notes from within Konvo
Every DM interaction is tracked — so if a customer contacts you via WhatsApp and also via Instagram, both conversations are visible in their contact profile

Troubleshooting — Common Error
"No Facebook Pages with Instagram business accounts found. Please connect an Instagram business account to one of your Facebook Pages."
This error appears at the end of the flow if your Instagram account is not properly set up. It means one of the following:
Your Instagram account is a personal account, not a Business or Creator account
Your Instagram account is not linked to a Facebook Page inside your Business Manager
To resolve this, go to your Instagram account settings and switch to a Business or Creator account. Then, inside Facebook Business Manager, make sure that Instagram account is connected to your Facebook Page. Once that's done, go back to Konvo and attempt the connection again.

Managing Your Integration
Once Instagram is connected, go to Settings → Integrations and click Settings on the Meta card to manage the connection. From there you can adjust configuration or disconnect the integration.
Disconnecting removes the Instagram channel from Konvo. Your existing conversation history will not be deleted, but new DMs will stop appearing in your inbox and the AI will stop responding via Instagram.
💡 Tip: If your Instagram DMs stop syncing after connection, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration — this refreshes the authorisation and usually resolves the issue.
✅ Done! Your Instagram account is now connected to Konvo. All incoming DMs will appear in your inbox and your AI will start handling them automatically.
