When running WhatsApp marketing campaigns, you might encounter sending limitations that prevent you from reaching your entire audience.
These limitations, known as "tiers", are set by Meta to ensure quality messaging and prevent spam.
Understanding your current tier and knowing how to upgrade it is essential for scaling your WhatsApp marketing efforts effectively. A misconfigured tier could mean missing out on reaching thousands of potential customers during crucial campaign periods.
In this guide, we'll explain step by step how to check your current limits, understand why they exist, and how to increase them to match your business needs.
What is WhatsApp Tier and why does it exist?
The tier (level) of your WhatsApp account determines the number of contacts you can send marketing messages to in 24 hours. These limits exist to:
Maintain message quality: Prevent spam and ensure users receive relevant content
Protect the platform: Avoid abuse and maintain WhatsApp's reputation
Encourage gradual scaling: Allow businesses to grow their messaging volume responsibly
If your audience size exceeds your current tier limit, you won't be able to reach everyone in a single day, potentially impacting your campaign effectiveness.
Important: Attempting to bypass or ignore these limits can result in account restrictions, temporary bans, or permanent suspension of your WhatsApp Business account.
Available Tier levels:
Tier 0: Up to 250 contacts/day
Tier 1: Up to 1,000 contacts/day
Tier 2: Up to 10,000 contacts/day
Tier 3: Up to 100,000 contacts/day
Tier 4: Unlimited
1. Check your current WhatsApp Tier :
To know your current tier, follow these steps:
Access Meta Business Manager > Settings
In the left panel click on: Accounts → WhatsApp Accounts
Select the account you have connected to Hoola
In the dropdown that opens on the right, go to the bottom and click on WhatsApp Manager
Here you'll be able to see the number you have connected to Hoola and your current limit and account quality status will appear.
2. Compare with your number of contacts:
Now go to Konvo and compare it with the number of marketing contacts you have in your audience.
When you compare those two numbers, you'll find yourself in one of the following two situations:
OPTION 1: Your WhatsApp limit is higher than the number of marketing contacts you have in Konvo
You're in luck, you DON'T have to do anything else!

3. How to upgrade your Tier :
If you need to upgrade your tier, it's very straightforward. You need to complete 2 requirements:
1. Verify your Facebook account
Verification in Meta Business Manager is key to increasing your sending limit and accessing greater benefits on WhatsApp. Only verified accounts can send to more than 1,000 contacts/day.
How to do it?
Access Meta Business Manager, go to the Security Center, and complete the process with your company's official documentation.
2. Warm up your account (Increase message volume for 7 days)
One of the requirements to upgrade your Tier is to have a marketing message volume for 7 days of >60% of your current total limit. The important thing is to do this maintaining high quality and without reaching spam limits.
Example: If you have a limit of 1k contacts, you should message more than 600 for 7 days.
Example: If you have a limit of 10k contacts, you should message more than 6000 for 7 days.
